Rumored to be the mythological birthplace of Apollo, God of the Sun, Light, Music and Prophecy, the island of Delos was a religious center and an important port during the 1st millennium B.C. Amongst the island's impressive ruins the visitors enjoy the Doric temples, the agoras (markets), an amphitheater, houses with mosaics and the iconic “Terrace of the Lions” statues, whilst other artifacts are displayed in the must-see Archaeological Museum.
